She came to order orchid earrings in the colors of Central Park's cherry blossoms — the soft pinks of a New York spring. But when we looked up, we saw her eyes: deep, quiet, Mediterranean. She told us her story. We listened. And then we made something we had never made before — a piece not for the blossoms she had asked for, but for the sea she had left behind. That is how the 兰花系列 — the Orchid Collection — began.
